The day of the big eclipse that everyone was traveling and preparing for, was our first day of school. And our plan was to witness the eclipse from home, even though it wouldn't be complete here. It did get close though!
Stephen turned our garbage can into a huge viewer.
We also had fun using a colander...
In between views (because I was scared for them to look through the glasses very long) I had them pose for pics!
Even though we didn't have a complete eclipse, it came pretty close. It got quite dim very quickly, and the shadow snakes started constantly flowing across the pavement. Then the crickets started chirping and it got a little cooler. And then it was over, and it was like it never happened... but it was cool while it lasted.
