It wasn't exactly a snow day. We'll call it a "baby day". You know...one of those days you completely skip school and go hang out with friends because your parents just had another baby ;) And your friends get a free pass too! Um...and it was NOT us that had the baby ;)
Iris and A playing Webkinz...
The boys did a LOT of this wii nonsense....and they LOVED it! Guess who the "funny one" is? Lucy told me that T is "SO funny". She then tried to repeat something funny he told her. She tried VERY hard. But she never succeeded due to laughing so hard she could barely breathe.
The girls crafted A TON. But I didn't get a picture of that...instead I got a picture of them deciding which color roof we should get. And you know what? I'm going with their decision.
Oh yeah, I did get a picture of their puppet show. They made a compromise with the boys. They would not expect attendance at their puppet show as long as the boys would set up their spy cameras in front of the "stage" and watch it that way ;)
It was a ton of fun listening to them and watching them all interact and play. And the next morning I got to hold one adorable Baby P :)

A Wii Party For A Not-So-Wee Clyde
My boy has been planning his 8th birthday party for awhile. He decided he wanted a wii party. He wanted his friends to come over and play wii...and that was it.
When I asked if he still wanted cake, he looked at me like I was crazy and said, "of course!...and shrimp...and sweet potato casserole." He wanted a red cake with just the word "Wii" on it. I reminded him that red makes him sick at his stomach so we went and picked out some blue sprinkles colored with some kind of vegetable extract. We made a completely dye (for him) and dairy (for his sister) free cake from scratch!!
Oh and he wanted Shadow the Hedgehog (friend to Sonic...I assume?...guess I need to learn these important details!) and his motorcycle on the cake. I, being the weird mother I am, just really needed the word "Clyde" and the number "8" somewhere on the cake...so I made a road sign. And, fortunately, he approved it! (When I was stressing about not having "Clyde" and "8" on the cake like a loony woman, Stephen heroically suggested the road sign...what a man!)
Since you can only have 4 wii-motes playing at a time, I told Clyde he only needed to invite 3 friends so no one would be left out of the games. Here are the four boys waiting on sweet potato casserole and popcorn shrimp while wearing their Sonic and Knuckles hedgehog hats.
Here they are right before singing "Happy Birthday"...
Clydie....
Clyde and McKellan...
Clyde and Will...
Clyde and Drew...
Playing Wii !!!
A few "after party" shots :)
*sigh* eight years since I held that fuzzy little baby with the pointy ears :)

Ferreting Away
We like to joke that Lavender is our good ferret and Laurel is our bad ferret. It's not really true. But I will tell you this. While Lavender was doing this....
I caught Laurel doing this....
And there goes Minnie (who is several times Laurel's size)...
When I leaned down to look under the bed....
hoisting up Tulip, the skunk....she's a hard worker!!
So I started cutting more holes out of the underpinning of the boxspring and this was all I dug out...

Clyde's Birthday Dinner
Clyde decided long ago that his birthday dinner would be at PF Chang's this year. Normally it's Japanese, but this year, apparently, his preference has changed to Chinese.
Lu and NeNa...
Stephen and I...
David and Papa...
Iris got Clyde a book from his favorite comic series....SONIC!! (despite expressions here, they really were excited!)
Lucy got Clyde a Kung-Fu Panda book, which really, you can't go wrong with that since Clyde knows EVERYTHING about martial arts (wink wink)...and we got to get Sherry in another pic....somehow at the end of the table she was able to avoid the pics : P
Sherry and David got him a gift card to learning express (which he spent on Ninjago Legos and a sky ball immediately after dinner...thanks S&D!!)
Mommy and Daddy got him a Webkinz aardvark...
NeNa and Papa got him TWO Ninjago sets!!
I just have to show him eating....Clyde eating is a wondrous thing.
honey chicken...
lo mein...you know, cause the soup and chicken would never be enough (I promise we don't typically let him eat like that)
Iris and her lettuce wraps...sometimes she eats them as wraps...sometimes she doesn't...
Lucy loves PF Changs because they are so allergy friendly! But even so, she always gets the same things, wonton soup, plain rice and plain chicken...then she adds soy sauce. This makes her VERY happy.
Sherry made dye/dairy free cookies (yes, those yellow sprinkles are dye free!) and they were GOOD!
But Clyde opted for banana spring rolls with pineapple/coconut icecream.
Papa and I may have each stollen one banana thinking this dessert was simply too much for just Clyde. He politely didn't say a word. But when he was finished, he did express a little disappointment that we had eaten them, because he had plenty of room in his tummy after all ;)
clump of ice cream from the right hand...bite of spring roll from the left....clump from the right...bite from the left...
When we got home he immediately asked if he could please "adopt" Freddy the Aardvark into his Webkinz account instead of taking books to bed. Daddy said, "yes."
We all had a great time and yummy food (I had Mu Shu!!). Thanks Ne-Na and Papa.
Happy Birthday, my boy....it's almost here!

Little Girl Hair
(alright...so I guess it should be titled 'Big Girl Hair', but it's my post, so.....)
I used to 'do' their hair all the time. And I have the pictures to prove it. But lately they don't want me to. But negotiations are over. They don't want us to cut their hair, which means, I'm the one trying to untangle the mats that occur due to wind and hard core play. So, if they want to keep those long tresses, they're going to have to put up with some styling as this helps prevent their hair turning into large welcome mats.
And that's fine by me, cause I happen to be smitten with their hair :)
